VIPER kits include a preconfigured Raspberry Pi. Contact NAI Support for a pre-imaged replacement SD card or assistance preparing a spare Pi.
Before replacement
- Save any required configuration backups while the application remains accessible.
- Record the Pi’s network address and selected customer build.
- Disable outputs and shut down the Pi before replacing hardware.
Replacing the Pi does not reset settings stored in the power supply.
Restart the installed application
When the Pi still operates, run this command in its terminal:
bash ~/viper-backend/restart-viper.shDecline the optional code update unless NAI Support directs otherwise. Wait for the script to check both services, then reopen VIPER.
Verify the replacement
- Follow Hardware setup and Network setup.
- Open VIPER and complete the Setup Wizard.
- Confirm the instruments, power-supply identities, and live telemetry.
- Re-select the customer build when required.
For startup errors, use Troubleshooting.
