Environmental Specs

Does NAI publish the Environmental Specifications that its boards are designed to?

Yes. The environmental specifications for a given product are listed in the Specifications section of its manual and on its datasheet, which you can download from the product’s page on naii.com.

What are the general environmental design guidelines for NAI boards?

Unless a product’s manual specifies otherwise, all NAI cPCI, VME and OpenVPX boards are designed to the general guidelines below, offered in three ruggedization levels: Commercial-AC (air cooled), Rugged-AC (air cooled) and Rugged-CC (conduction cooled). Some products narrow a value for their own configuration (for example, a Level 1 operating range of 0° C to 55° C), so always check the specific manual.

Environmental

Unless otherwise specified, the following table outlines the general Environmental Specifications design guidelines for board level products of North Atlantic Industries. All our cPCI, VME and OpenVPX boards are designed for either air or conduction cooling. All boards also incorporate appropriate stiffening to ensure performance during shock and vibration but also to assure reliable operation (lower fatigue stresses) over the service life of the product.
